‘Seat Time’ refers to the duration a learner will take to complete the course. The longer the seat time of a course, the more time it will take to develop.

A 30-slide deck will not always translate to a 30-minute course. It depends based on the content and interactivity of each slide.

1-hour seat time

Interactivity Content-min

The more interactive and immersive the course, the more time and effort it will take to develop. Below is the definition of interactivity levels from an ELM perspective:

Level 1 Level 2 Level 3
Knowledge & Comprehension Application & Analysis Synthesis & Evaluation
This is an introductory course, generally used for relaying specific information that requires awareness and understanding but doesn’t require significant practice or interaction. It includes simple, presentational interactions to convey information with occasional knowledge checks and simple activities for reinforcement. This course is the level preferred by many of our customers. Level 2 courses immerse the learner in your content through the use of first-person character scenarios, visually creative interactions, and more application exercises to build skills and reinforce knowledge. Level 3 courses are enhanced courses for organisations looking to take a great approach to the next level. An improved system is worth it when you seek to impact an organisation and leave a lasting impression.
